Crocker Highlands / Trestle Glen Neighborhood - Oakland, California
The Crocker Highlands / Trestle Glen neighborhood lies just south of Piedmont in the Oakland Hills. The neighborhood features tree-lined streets, a number of parks, and a variety of architectural styles. Most homes in the neighborhood were built in the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s; some were designed by noted architects Julia Morgan and Bernard Maybeck. Crocker Highlands' street lamps date from the same period as most of the homes and add a wonderful flair to the curving streets, laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted and his brother, and help to encourage neighborly events in the evenings. The Lakeshore Homeowners' Association, to which many Crocker residents belong, protects the distinguished architectural characteristics of the neighborhood.
Crocker Highlands is ideally located near Interstate 580, allowing easy, fast access to Downtown Oakland, San Francisco, and the entire Bay Area. The shops and restaurants of the Grand Lake District are just a short drive or long walk away.
