Ridgemont / Maxwell Park Neighborhood - Oakland, California

The land of Maxwell Park was opened for development in 1921, but most homes in the area were not built until the 30's and 40's. Homes in Maxwell Park used to be among the most affordable in Oakland, but in recent years home prices in the Maxwell Park have caught up with the rest of the Oakland Hills. Most Maxwell Park homes are either two or three bedrooms, with a variety of architectural styles.

Ridgemont is a far newer neighborhood, with most of its homes built in the 1970's and 80's. It was one of the last undeveloped areas within Oakland's city limits and is now the site of a major development by DeSilva in the former Leona Quarry.

Area residents love the easy access to Interstate 580 and the short drive to Lakeshore and San Leandro for shopping.
