About the East Bay Regional Park System

The East Bay Regional Park District is the largest local park agency in the country, with over 10,000 acres and 12 regional parks in and around the city of Oakland.

According to the EBRPD, more than 14 million people visit East Bay Parks each year; their present land value is estimated at nearly $1 Billion.

The parks and trails of the Oakland Hills dramatically increase the property values in the area, conferring anywhere from a 10% to 30% bump depending on how close a particular property lies to a park. But beyond the economics, these parks provide the region's wildlife a permanent protected habitat, improve air quality for all, and help prevent erosion of the surrounding hillsides. And of course they improve the health, both physical and mental, of the people that visit and enjoy them!

Truly the East Bay Regional Parks are a tremendous asset for our community.
